How To Make DIY Popsicle Stick Canvas Gift | Mother’s day Craft For Kids

This post is strictly for the kids and dads. If you are a Mother please look away! This is a perfect one of a kind craft that you could create and gift your Mom for this Mother’s day. This is an easy project for anyone to try but you need a little patience for the glue and paint to dry. Let’s get started with the supplies you need.

Supplies Needed:
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Kids paint & Brush
  • Egg carton
  • Glue
  • Chenille stem
  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Black Marker
  • Buttons
Method:
  1. Take a construction paper, apply some glue and start pasting the popsicle sticks adjacent to one another and wait until its dry.
  2. Now paint the popsicle canvas with your desired colors and let it dry. Mixing of any two colors gives a great look.
  3. Meanwhile cut the tiny compartments from the egg carton and make them into small flowers as shown in the video.
  4. Go creative and make your flowers colorful. Make sure the color you chose go well with the popsicle canvas.
  5. Once the flowers are dry paste the buttons in the center to make it look more appealing.
  6. For the flower pot and the sun, take a construction paper, trace and cut it out the shape.
  7. Now its time to decorate our canvas! A glue gun works best here (which is not advisable for kids as it is very hot. Make sure you have an adult to help with a glue gun.)
  8. Paste the egg carton flowers to the canvas on the top position as shown. For branches and leaves use chenille stem. At the bottom of the branches paste the pot and sun on the top as shown.

Easter Bunny mask is a quick and easy craft that you can do with your children. This is such a fun craft to make and especially a perfect non-candy gift for the Easter baskets. You and the kids can make these rabbit masks in minutes.

The fun part is once you trace the template the whole mask making process can be done by your kids. Aren’t they looking so cute?! Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

Supplies Needed:
  • Heavy card stock paper
  • Foam Sheet
  • cotton wool or ‘cotton balls’
  • elasticated strings or satin ribbon for tieing in the  back
  • Foam sheet cut into long strips for whiskers
  • Scissor
  • School Glue
  • Pencil & Ruler
  • Paper hole punch

Method:
  1. Measure your kid’s face and head circumference. Depending on it trace a mask template and cut it out.
  2. For the inner ears, trace the shapes on a foam sheet, cut and paste it on the mask template.
  3. Cut the foam sheets into 6 long strips for whiskers.
  4. In the traced part paste the white and pink cotton balls and also the whiskers as shown in the video.
  5. Using the punch, put a hole on both sides.
  6. Tie the elastic string in around the mask.
  7. That’s It! A cute Easter Bunny Mask is ready to be added to the Easter basket.

Tips: If you don’t want to use it as a mask you can paste the skewers on the back side of the mask and use it as a prop for easter photography too.

DIY Paper Chinese Lantern

How To Make DIY Chinese Paper Lantern- Chinese New Year Crafts

Chinese lanterns are so easy and fun to make that they often associated with festivals. These paper lanterns are quite popular to make for Chinese New Year. This is such a great project for kids who are starting to master the use of scissors! So, why not you could make these paper lanterns with your kids and teach them a bit about Chinese culture? Let’s get started with the step by step tutorial.

Supplies Needed:
  • Cardstock paper
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Glue gun or school glue
  • Washi Tape or any color paper or satin ribbon

Create your own Chinese new year lanterns ! A Great DIY Craft to do with kids for Chinese lanterns.

 

Method:
  1. To make paper lanterns, take the cardstock paper and cut into two pieces of 5 inches and 6 inches each. Now apply some glue on the corner of the 5-inch paper and roll it forming a cylinder shape.
  2. Now take the 6-inch piece and begin by cutting down the long side of .5 inches and set them aside.
  3. Next, fold the sheet of paper in half to form a long and skinny rectangle, as shown.
  4. Draw pencil marks as a guide to make sure you don’t cut all the way to the edge of the paper.
  5. Open it up, and place the cylinder over the sheet.  Apply glue to both ends and paste it around the cylinder shape as shown.
  6. Now take the .5 inches paper strip and glue it as a lantern handle.
  7. Use washi tapes or satin ribbon or any colored paper strips and paste it over the lantern to decorate it, if desired.
  8. That’s It! Hang your paper lanterns from the ceiling, or place them on the table for a colorful and festive centerpiece!
